In 1992, Michael began work as a jazz dee-jay on the highly respected and influential “voice of New Orleans,” WWOZ. By 1997, he combined his work at the station with his work as the in-house booking agent for Burgess Management, handling the booking agency duties for artists such as Terence Blanchard, Charlie Haden, Lizz Wright, Claudia Acuna and others. Post Katrina, Michael returned to the East coast and opened Michael Kline Artists, which now represents Grammy Award Winners, Guggenheim Fellows, NEA Jazz Masters, and Down Beat Poll Winners.
Meet Your Music at the Exit 0 International Jazz Festival in Cape May, NJ, May 30-June 1, 2014! During the 3-day Fest weekend, Cape May transforms into a jazz mecca as Exit 0 Jazz plays host to over 100 international touring musicians. The atmosphere is styled after European festivals, with fest-goers strolling from venue to venue reveling in the many styles of music from jazz, soul, blues and R&B.
New in 2014, Exit 0 Jazz, in partnership with the Cape May Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities, presents Jazz at the Estate a celebration of 25 Years of the Cape May Music Festival. JAZZ AT THE ESTATE features an outdoor, rain or shine stage on the grounds of the historic Emlen Physick Estate with world class performances scheduled from noon until six. In addition to the on-stage talent, an unbelievable lineup of Festival vendors will take over the spacious grounds of the Estate, featuring SuchaMuch of the latest and greatest Cape May & South Jersey foods, crafts and locally produced wines and brews! Grab the kids, grandma, your funky beach hat and beach blanket and be ready for a full day of Festival fun in the sun at JAZZ AT THE ESTATE!
Festival Headliners hit the CAPE MAY CONVENTION HALL XEROX MAIN STAGE each night of the Fest weekend, and the Festival POPS PASS SERIES feature over 30 sets of music in CAPE MAY club venues throughout the weekend.
