WinslowDynasty is a music group with a mission to change the world and inspire a renaissance in creative art.  Dontae Winslow is a featured member on trumpet/production and vocals, while Mashica Winslow is a featured member who lends her angelic vocals/songwriting and stellar arranging abilitiesTheir formidable alliance comprises styles of Jazz, Soul, Urban Poetry (Hip-Hop) and Rhythm and Blues music.

Dontae grew up in a tough neighborhood on North Avenue in West Baltimore, Maryland. He was raised by his God loving grandparents and also by a single mom who tragically fell into drug addiction. During high school Dontae states that his troubled home life was the impetus for him to master his art. He has survived many of the obstacles that plague our young people today, and has used his music and his voice as a platform to heal and inspire. Dontae starting taking trumpet lessons at age 12 and wrote raps in school daily. He attended the Baltimore School for the Arts he was afforded the unique opportunity to be encouraged by the late great Tupac Shakur who would soon influence his music. After high school he moved to the New York jazz scene and began studying and being mentored by the great young jazz trumpeter Roy Hargrove.

As a music producer/songwriter/arranger Dontae’s work include great artist such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, Keyshia Cole, Avant, Beyonce, Dr. Dre, David Banner, Mary Mary, Kierra Sheard, Kendrick Lamar, and Snoop Dogg. Dontae is also a very in demand trumpeter who has also worked in the bands of  Justin Timberlake, Jill Scott, Queen Latifah, Common, D’Angelo, Christina Aguilera, Lauryn Hill, Snoop Dogg, Gary Bartz,  Gary Thomas, Raphael Saadiq, and The Soulful Symphony.

Mashica is one of Baltimore’s greatest singers. At the tender age of twenty-three, she has an accomplished performance track in singing many genres of music. MaShica was raised in a loving Christian family by grandmother, Vashti Hunt, and her thirteen-year old mother, Baltimore gospel legend Sherry Hunt. Sherry discovered MaShica’s talent at the early age of three when she began matching pitches that her mother sang to her.

MaShica grew up in Edmonson Village, West Baltimore, and attended the Baltimore School for the Arts. Much of her training there was directed toward classical voice, but in her spare time she would listen to gospel and R&B music. In 2001, she graduated from Morgan State University with a degree in classical music performance. While at Morgan, MaShica served as a section leader and featured soloist on selections with varying degrees of difficulty and stylistic approach. The Morgan State University Choir has toured extensively and afforded MaShica the opportunity to perform with world-class orchestras throughout Europe and North America.  She has performed/recorded for with greats such as Wynton Marsalis, Jay-Z, Karen Clarke, Mary Mary, Dr. Dre, Anthony Brown,  Xzibit, Kim Burrell, Richard Smallwood, Kathleen Battle, Denyce Graves, Gary Bartz, Roy Hargrove, The Soulful Symphony and Jesse Norman.
