Master trumpeter, composer, teacher and producer Wynton Marsalis is a living icon in the music industry. The Artistic Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City has won 9 Grammy Awards and was the first ever to win a Pulitzer Prize for a jazz recording, “Blood on the Fields”-in a category that was usually reserved for classical music.

In this interview with iRock Jazz, the Master is both the teacher and the student. Listen as Wynton Marsalis gives advice to up and coming artists on what it takes to make it to the next level and what some of the up and coming greats are teaching him.
